Serge Fiorio was born on October 11, 1911, in Vallorbe, Switzerland, to Piedmontese parents and died on January 11, 2011, in Viens, Vaucluse. His father was a cousin of the writer Jean Giono; the family moved frequently, following the construction sites of his father's construction company. After World War II, Giono introduced him to the watercolorist Lucien Jacques, who lived in Montjustin; from 1947, Fiorio lived and worked there in Haute-Provence. His Provençal landscapes, considered naive painting, were first documented in a monograph in 1992 in the volume "L'Itinéraire" by André Lombard.
In the collection: "Les Roches."
Technique: Oil on canvas.
