Salvador Dalí was born in Figueres, Catalonia, in 1904 and died there in 1989. He is considered one of the central figures of Surrealism; his pictorial world revolves around dreams, ecstasy, sexuality, and religion, with his wife Gala appearing repeatedly. In addition to painting, he created an extensive body of printmaking work, including the series for Dante's Divina Commedia (wood engravings after his watercolors, published by Les Heures Claires, 1960) and the 25 sheets for Rabelais' Les Songes Drôlatiques de Pantagruel (1973).

In the collection: "Inferno Canto 13", "Inferno Canto 20", "On voit cette reine", "Un Généreux Courier", "Carmen", "Le Cheval De La Mort from Les Chevaux -- La Cogida y la Muerte".

Technique: Graphic lithography, graphic woodcut.
