Gabriele Dahms (1944 Freiburg im Breisgau – 1999 Heidelberg) studied painting from 1965 to 1967 with André Sangsué in Geneva, later with Heinz Trökes in Berlin and Salzburg, and with Erich Kraemer in Luxembourg. Her early work is close to Informel and Tachisme; her engagement with Mark Rothko's Color Field painting was formative. After a scholarship from the city of Mannheim in 1980 and travels to East Asia, she occupied herself with Far Eastern philosophy, particularly Taoism; from 1983 onwards, she consistently titled her works "TAO" and numbered them consecutively. Her estate is managed by the Künstlernachlässe Mannheim.

In the collection: "8/9 Gabriele Dahms 73".

Technique: Graphic lithograph.
