Christo, born Christo Vladimirov Javacheff, collaborated with Jeanne-Claude on temporary large-scale projects in public spaces starting in 1961. Among their most famous works are the wrapping of the Berlin Reichstag (1995) and "The Gates" in New York's Central Park (February 2005) with approximately 7,500 gates and saffron-colored fabric panels. The projects were financed through the sale of drawings, collages, and prints; editions for "The Gates" were released, among other forms, as offset lithographs.
